I know a lot of people who virtualize Windows specifically because they need Microsoft Office. Well, Microsoft implemented a new feature for Outlook – 'Clutter'. It's supposed to be a nice filter to catch some of those messages that you probably don't need, but you haven't gotten around to unsubscribing or to set up filters for. Sounds handy, right? And many times the installer files are useless anyway; all they do is make sure an app is installed in /Applications, for example, which I can handle myself, thank you very much. NB: With many very system dependent pkgs, unpkg shouldn't be used, because it doesn't do any system related stuff, on purpose. Very handy, and GNU GPL free too! Unpkg for mac. But for simple applications (and even ones that just install extentions in places), unpkg should be fine.

I'll admit the problem was mine – I ignored messages like this that came to me, and I also didn't check the folder very often. The first couple of days it was only a few automated messages that I thought probably could go to a clutter filter, so I didn't bother to check back. That was totally my error – but since I know how I work in my inbox, it's best for me to turn off this tool. Side note, if you do intend to keep the clutter tool on, make sure you review the emails that look like this!
